How does Smile Design work?

Your Smile Design will be completed over a series of appointments. During your initial consultation, our team will perform a smile analysis in order to develop an effective treatment plan for you. Smile Design techniques require precise measurements of your mouth, gum lines, lips, and the natural shape of the teeth. In order to get these measurements, your smile analysis will include assessment photography, digital imaging, and taking accurate imprints of your smile. The doctors at SmilesNY are then able to fabricate a 3D model of what your new smile will look like. In many cases, you can even try this model on, allowing you to “test drive” your new smile before even preparing your existing teeth. These steps not only help our dentists ensure a positive Smile Design outcome, but also allow you to envision your new smile before any restorations are made.

After your smile analysis, your dentist will discuss what procedures your individual Smile Design will involve. Extensive Smile Design treatments may require as few as two appointments. Depending on their complexity, multiple procedures can often be performed on the same day.
